Snoopy's Christmas - Smash Mouth

The news it came out in the First World War

The bloody Red Baron was flying once more

The Allied Command ignored all of its men

And called on Snoopy to do it again

It was the night before Christmas and forty below

When Snoopy went up in search of his foe

He spied the Red Baron and fiercely they fought

With ice on his wings, snoopy knew he was caught

Ring out from the land

Asking peace of all the world

The Baron had Snoopy dead in his sights

He reached for the trigger to pull it up tight

Why he didn’t shoot, well, we’ll never know

Or was it the bells from the village below

The Baron made Snoopy fly to the Rhine

And forced him to land behind the enemy lines

Snoopy was certain that this was the end

When the Baron cried out, «Merry Christmas, my friend!»

The Baron then offered a holiday toast

And Snoopy our hero saluted his host

And then with a roar they were both on their way

Each knowing they’d meet on some other day

Die Nachricht kam im Ersten Weltkrieg heraus

Der verdammte Rote Baron flog wieder

Das alliierte Kommando ignorierte alle seine Männer

Und forderte Snoopy auf, es noch einmal zu tun

Es war die Nacht vor Weihnachten und vierzig Grad darunter

Als Snoopy sich auf die Suche nach seinem Feind machte

Er hat den Roten Baron ausspioniert und sie haben heftig gekämpft

Mit Eis auf seinen Flügeln wusste Snoopy, dass er erwischt wurde

Bitte um Frieden für die ganze Welt

Der Baron hatte Snoopy tot im Visier

Er griff nach dem Abzug, um ihn fest zu ziehen

Warum er nicht geschossen hat, nun, wir werden es nie erfahren

Oder waren es die Glocken aus dem Dorf unten

Der Baron ließ Snoopy zum Rhein fliegen

Und zwang ihn, hinter den feindlichen Linien zu landen

Snoopy war sich sicher, dass dies das Ende war

Als der Baron ausrief: „Frohe Weihnachten, mein Freund!“

Der Baron sprach dann einen Feiertagstoast aus

Und Snoopy, unser Held, grüßte seinen Gastgeber

Und dann machten sie sich beide mit einem Gebrüll auf den Weg

Jeder wusste, dass sie sich an einem anderen Tag treffen würden
