Took the 79 a fridaynight

With a sixpack of beer and a bottle of wine

It was nine o’clock and I felt fine

Gonna meet the band and get drunk

Stepped out of the bus and looked around

There stood B-boy and Johan

They were drinking beer in the sun

Erik was at the bar

Another night in town

B-boys fooling around

All the shallowed people got us bored

And the cops were shouting — Beat the poor

Two hours 'til midnight, next stop was

The Royal Pub where all the rudekids rock

Erik, the cellblock rebel stood ouside

Tried to charm a rudegirl with a skanking tune

She said — Alright, wanna come inside

So he left us that fridaynight

Aus dem Bus gestiegen und sich umgesehen

Sie tranken Bier in der Sonne

Erik war an der Bar

Noch eine Nacht in der Stadt

B-Boys albern herum

All die seichten Leute haben uns gelangweilt

Und die Bullen schrien: Schlagt die Armen

Zwei Stunden bis Mitternacht, nächste Station war

Der Royal Pub, wo alle Rudekids rocken

Erik, der Zellenblock-Rebell, stand draußen

Versuchte, ein unhöfliches Mädchen mit einer skanking-Melodie zu bezaubern

Sie sagte – Okay, ich will reinkommen

Also hat er uns an diesem Freitagabend verlassen
