I can sink fine I don’t need your help

Or your cement shoes

That business suit looks better on you anyway

Shrugging your shoulders

Hands in pockets

Loneliness invades

Fingers find sockets

And now you know my gloves are off

Remarkably you’re relaxed you sit and scoff

Because at the bottom of it all we both know

That these targets of mine will never fall

We can end up strangers the way we began

We can and we will write wills
