Note to Self (No. 81) - Horrorshow

I wrote this one with the windows open

To let in some fresh air, or maybe I was half-hopin'

I could fly away from it all, find a brighter day

But I’m here to live my life and I’ll find a way

I got to thinking, you know it ain’t so bad

I’ve got my friends and my brother and my Mum and my Dad

And I’m thankful for that, sorry I don’t show it enough

These are the people that I turn to when the going gets tough

What up?

I give thanks to my mates and crew

Like the boys say «together we gon' make it through»

And the same goes for you too, wherever you hail from

The words may change, we’re all singing the same song

It’s in the key of life, though we might forget the tune

From time to time man, we’ll be all right

Look at the metres gained, stand in today’s sun

You can’t yet deal with tomorrow’s rain

See that’s life kid, and we just tryna live it right kid

If these walls could talk, I’m not sure I’d want to listen

It’s a fine line between a game and a competition, but

Sometimes I sit back and look at how far we’ve come

And it’s hard to believe, it only just begun

Sometimes I wonder if you really understand

The drive that I find inside your encouragement

Sometimes I think about the days way back

'Fore the hurt crept in, tainted that household name

Love… that very household’s name

But now that house holds painful memories for some

Endless card games and road trip charades

Remember the good times, I’m sure there’s plenty more to come

Ich habe dieses bei geöffneten Fenstern geschrieben

Um etwas frische Luft hereinzulassen, oder vielleicht habe ich halb gehofft

Ich könnte von allem wegfliegen und einen helleren Tag finden

Aber ich bin hier, um mein Leben zu leben, und ich werde einen Weg finden

Ich muss denken, du weißt, es ist nicht so schlimm

Ich habe meine Freunde und meinen Bruder und meine Mutter und meinen Vater

Und dafür bin ich dankbar, tut mir leid, dass ich es nicht genug zeige

Das sind die Leute, an die ich mich wende, wenn es schwierig wird

Was oben?

Ich bedanke mich bei meinen Kumpels und der Crew

Wenn diese Wände sprechen könnten, bin ich mir nicht sicher, ob ich zuhören möchte

Es ist ein schmaler Grat zwischen einem Spiel und einem Wettbewerb, aber

Manchmal lehne ich mich zurück und schaue, wie weit wir gekommen sind

Und es ist schwer zu glauben, es hat gerade erst begonnen

Manchmal frage ich mich, ob du das wirklich verstehst

Der Antrieb, den ich in Ihrer Ermutigung finde

Manchmal denke ich an die Tage zurück

„Vorher hat sich der Schmerz eingeschlichen und diesen bekannten Namen verdorben

Liebe … dieser Familienname

Aber jetzt birgt dieses Haus für einige schmerzhafte Erinnerungen

Endlose Kartenspiele und Roadtrip-Scharaden

Denken Sie an die guten Zeiten, ich bin sicher, dass noch viel mehr kommen wird

Konnte nicht durch den Sturm sehen, aber der Horizont ist jetzt klar
