Now the weekend feels a little too long

Grandma used to tell us how she lived through the depression

And the best way out is always right through

But she was mean and crazy just a nasty old lady

In den 70er-Jahren haben wir an einer Leitung auf Benzin gewartet

Mann, das scheint so gut wie nichts zu sein, jetzt weißt du es

Habe mir drüben im Tal ein Haus gekauft

Ich kann das Haus jetzt nicht verkaufen, ich bin in einer dunklen Gasse

Nun, gestern haben sie mir den Sack gegeben

Beobachte all die Autos, die vorbeifahren

Aufgrund von College-Darlehen, die er (zurück) zurückzahlen musste

Es ist ziemlich schlimm hier, aber es ist wirklich schlimm dort

Und in Island ist ein Aufruhr im Gange

In L.A. schließen sie am Freitag die DMV

Jetzt fühlt sich das Wochenende etwas zu lang an

Herr, es vermasselt mein Herz und meine Seele und meinen Verstand

Ich habe die ganze Stimulation satt, die ich in einem langen Urlaub brauche

Ich nehme ein Buch von Maynard Keynes mit

Oma hat uns immer erzählt, wie sie die Depression überstanden hat

Und der beste Ausweg ist immer direkt durch

Aber sie war gemein und verrückt, nur eine böse alte Dame

Bleib im Bett, das werde ich tun
