But we deserved to be treated like we were citizens

Only to get smacked with that war on drugs and crack attack

But we believed you, made our hashtags and you mocked us

But we broke our necks just to hold our chins up

And them anti-gang rallies, they lifted our consciousness up

But it feel like this ain’t real life

And my American skin won’t let me win

And I’m so tired and I ain’t tryna scare you

But I looked to the sky like «Grandmama I think I failed you»

Between these Jewish ghettos and the one in they own Chicago

That riddle alone would ruin your psyche too

But fixing systemic issues, it ain’t the source of your rest

But the work of a man’s hands, it has never quenched his thirst

Hoping in a broken system to fix what’s broken in us

Und das Marine Corps brachte die armen schwarzen Männer draußen in Berlin an Land

Und sie konnten nicht anders, als die verblüffende Ähnlichkeit zu bemerken

Zwischen diesen jüdischen Ghettos und dem in ihrem eigenen Chicago

Wie ein Mann für ein Land posiert, das ihn nicht wählen lässt?

Oder einen Diktator besiegen, der dasselbe tut wie sein eigener POTUS

Allein dieses Rätsel würde auch deine Psyche ruinieren

Und dieses Nitro-Dreiradfahren brachte ihn dazu, fünf Vicodins zu beißen

Es ist eine Schande, dass die Veteranen des Kalten Krieges keine Laufbandparaden bekommen

Vielleicht sind sie deshalb Alkoholiker
