Standing room only, not even room to kneel and pray

Standing room only on the Judgement Day

Last night I have an awful dream that the end of time had come

The trumpet had been sounded and life on earth has done

An angel stood, one foot on land the other foot on sea

And as I tried to kneel and pray a voice said unto me

There’s standing room only, it’s too late now to pray

There’s standing room only, this is the Judgement Day

People filled each church and churchyard

Just as far as I could see

I heard the pityful cry for mercy and then I realized it was me

I saw the Saviour did appear as he split the eastern sky

I saw tears of joy on a Christian’s face and I heard the sinners cry

And as I tried to touch his hand with one last people plea

I cried again have mercy, have mercy Lord on me

I saw a tear come to his eye as he turned my soul away

I didn’t know him yesterday and he knew me not today

The earth was burning all around

The world wound up in smoke

And as the flames came off me

Thank God I awoke

Then I got out of bed and got down on my knees

And you should’ve heard me pray

For in my dream I witnessed God’s great Judgement Day

Standing room only on God’s great Judgement Day…

Nur Stehplätze, nicht einmal Platz zum Knien und Beten

Am Jüngsten Tag nur Stehplätze

Letzte Nacht habe ich einen schrecklichen Traum, dass das Ende der Zeit gekommen ist

Die Posaune war geblasen worden und das Leben auf der Erde hat es getan

Ein Engel stand da, ein Fuß auf dem Land, der andere auf dem Meer

Und als ich versuchte, mich hinzuknien und zu beten, sagte eine Stimme zu mir

Es gibt nur Stehplätze, zum Beten ist es jetzt zu spät

Es gibt nur Stehplätze, heute ist der Jüngste Tag

Menschen füllten jede Kirche und jeden Kirchhof

Soweit ich sehen konnte

Ich hörte den mitleidigen Schrei um Gnade und dann wurde mir klar, dass ich es war

Ich sah, wie der Erlöser erschien, als er den östlichen Himmel teilte

Ich sah Freudentränen auf dem Gesicht eines Christen und ich hörte die Sünder weinen

Und als ich versuchte, seine Hand mit einer letzten Bitte zu berühren

Ich rief erneut, erbarme dich, erbarme dich, Herr, mit mir

Ich sah eine Träne in sein Auge steigen, als er meine Seele abwandte

Ich kannte ihn gestern nicht und er kannte mich heute nicht

Ringsum brannte die Erde

Die Welt ging in Rauch auf

Und als die Flammen von mir abgingen

Gott sei Dank bin ich aufgewacht

Dann stieg ich aus dem Bett und ging auf die Knie

Und du hättest mich beten hören sollen

Denn in meinem Traum war ich Zeuge von Gottes großem Gerichtstag

An Gottes großem Gerichtstag nur Stehplätze…
