The scaffolding and stilts were the laws and legislation

This house was doomed, but they didn’t care

They’d invested in the system that was beyond repair

When I was little

I dressed up as an astronaut and explored outer space

I dressed up as a superhero and ran about the place

I dressed up as a fireman and rescued those in need

I dressed up as a doctor and cured every disease

It was crystal clear to me back then

That the only problems that I could face

Would be the same problems that affect us all

But of course, this sense of common existence

Was sucked out of me in an instant

As though from birth I could walk

Nichts konnte das fehlerhafte Fundament des Gebäudes reparieren

Die Gerüste und Stelzen waren die Gesetze und die Gesetzgebung

Dieses Haus war dem Untergang geweiht, aber es war ihnen egal

Sie hatten in das System investiert, das nicht mehr zu reparieren war

Als ich klein war

Ich habe mich als Astronaut verkleidet und den Weltraum erkundet

Ich verkleidete mich als Superheld und rannte durch den Ort

Ich habe mich als Feuerwehrmann verkleidet und Menschen in Not gerettet

Ich habe mich als Arzt verkleidet und jede Krankheit geheilt

Es war mir damals glasklar

Das sind die einzigen Probleme, denen ich begegnen könnte

Wären die gleichen Probleme, die uns alle betreffen

Aber natürlich dieses Gefühl der gemeinsamen Existenz

Wurde sofort aus mir herausgesaugt

Als könnte ich von Geburt an laufen

Aber ich musste kriechen

Das ist also eine so aufregende Zeit (um am Leben zu sein)

Unsere Generationen müssen kämpfen (um zu überleben)
