Here comes a storm

The dust and papers dance around the room

It tells of a storm

The sky is a painted viscous swirl of troubled hues

There’s a storm

The branches rock and dance and creak and wave

We’re in for a storm

I’ve got this headache that I’ve had for days

Here comes the rain

The first few drops caress and gently dance

They light up your face

You smile in wonder looking through the eyes of a child once again

But soon the gentle drops become the deadly wolf of a gale

Our voices become lost beneath the chaos

Here comes a storm

The way the wind it starts to play and race

It whispers a storm

And here comes a storm

Just as everything was falling into place here’s a storm

There must be a storm

Don’t we need it

Just to clear it

To blow the dust away

Away, to a place where it can never be found or thought of again

Draw me the shades

The beasts that softly whisper in your ear & keep you awake

We all have ghosts and monsters dear it’s best to give them a face

And then you simply take it, burn and throw the ashes away

The creeping doubts will disappear without trace

Here comes the dawn

I can’t believe we’ve been sitting here all night talking this long

About exactly when and where it started going so wrong

Dissecting every aspect as if it was fine all along

I told you that I’d never been all that strong

Here comes a storm

And with it come the things that we will have to face in this storm

And here comes a storm

Just as everything was falling into place here’s a storm

There must be a storm

Don’t we need it

Just to clear it

To blow the ashes away

Away, to a place where they can never be found or thought of again

This patch of blue, this ray of sun

The sense of a strange uneasy calm

Perhaps that was all, perhaps we’re done

Or maybe the worst is yet to come

And all is calm and cold as death

As all of nature holds her breath

But soon enough she’ll blow

She’ll howl

She knows

And she will howl

She’ll blow us deep into the ground

To the ground

Where we can only pray that we’ll never be found

Der Staub und die Papiere tanzen durch den Raum

Es erzählt von einem Sturm

Der Himmel ist ein gemalter zähflüssiger Wirbel aus unruhigen Farbtönen

Es gibt einen Sturm

Die Äste schaukeln und tanzen und knarren und winken

Uns steht ein Sturm bevor

Ich habe diese Kopfschmerzen, die ich seit Tagen habe

Hier kommt der Regen

Die ersten Tropfen streicheln und tanzen sanft

Sie erhellen Ihr Gesicht

Du lächelst verwundert, als du noch einmal durch die Augen eines Kindes schaust

Aber bald werden die sanften Tropfen zum tödlichen Wolf eines Sturms

Unsere Stimmen gehen unter dem Chaos verloren

Hier kommt ein Sturm

Wie der Wind anfängt zu spielen und zu rasen

Es flüstert einen Sturm

Und hier kommt ein Sturm

Gerade als sich alles zusammenfügt, ist hier ein Sturm

Es muss ein Sturm sein

Brauchen wir das nicht?

Nur um es zu löschen

Um den Staub wegzublasen

Weg, an einen Ort, an dem es nie wieder gefunden oder gedacht werden kann

Zeichne mir die Schattierungen

Die Bestien, die dir leise ins Ohr flüstern und dich wach halten

Wir alle haben Geister und Monster, Liebes, es ist am besten, ihnen ein Gesicht zu geben

Und dann nimmst du es einfach, verbrennst und wirfst die Asche weg

Die schleichenden Zweifel werden spurlos verschwinden

Hier kommt die Morgendämmerung

Ich kann nicht glauben, dass wir die ganze Nacht hier gesessen und so lange geredet haben

Wann genau und wo es anfing, so schief zu gehen

Jeden Aspekt sezieren, als ob es die ganze Zeit in Ordnung wäre

Ich habe dir gesagt, dass ich noch nie so stark war

Hier kommt ein Sturm

Und damit kommen die Dinge, denen wir uns in diesem Sturm stellen müssen

Und hier kommt ein Sturm

Gerade als sich alles zusammenfügt, ist hier ein Sturm

Es muss ein Sturm sein

Brauchen wir das nicht?

Nur um es zu löschen

Um die Asche wegzublasen

Weg, an einen Ort, wo sie nie wieder gefunden oder gedacht werden können

Dieser blaue Fleck, dieser Sonnenstrahl

Das Gefühl einer seltsamen, unbehaglichen Ruhe

Vielleicht war das alles, vielleicht sind wir fertig

Oder vielleicht steht das Schlimmste noch bevor

Und alles ist ruhig und kalt wie der Tod

Wie die ganze Natur den Atem anhält

Aber schon bald wird sie explodieren

Sie wird heulen

Sie weiß

Und sie wird heulen

Sie wird uns tief in den Boden blasen

Auf den Boden

Wo wir nur beten können, dass wir nie gefunden werden
