Not As Far - Three Legged Fox

I will stand atop everything that is mine

All that’s around, beneath and inside

I’ll show courage when I feel weak

I will listen much more than I speak

I will accept the good

Show more patience than I usually would

Sure as we’ll someday grow old

I will fight for the ground that I hold

No one said it would be easy

With everyday its a little less hard

Stay pointed to where I am going

With everyday its not as far

Every chance I get, I’ll try to express

Give thanks for how much I’ve been blessed

Sure to take pride in all I do

Be someone my people can bare witness to

I’m not trying to preach or impose

I’m a work in progress and so it goes

And sure as the next day will come

I’ll work til my work is done

I will shake this hurried notion

That the best is yet to come

I will stumble here and there

The straight and narrow, easier said than done

Ich bin ein Work in Progress und so geht es

Und gewiss wird der nächste Tag kommen

Ich arbeite, bis meine Arbeit erledigt ist

Ich werde diese überstürzte Vorstellung abschütteln

Dass das Beste noch kommt

Ich werde hier und da stolpern

Das Gerade und Enge, leichter gesagt als getan
