Feeling high now

She says

She says

She’s got the wings of a swan

And she moves her arms

And she looks at me and she says

I take a wet cloth and put it on her brow

And the sunlight rakes through the room

And the dry leaves in the corner whirlpool

She reaches out to the books

Strokes their spines

I walked out into the pale withered fields

And I thought I don’t give that much of a damn just

How she feels

Then once more in my head I heard her say

So I looked up to the cold blue sky and shut her out

I crossed the frozen brook by the thin birch trees

And I thought it was the bluest sky I’d ever seen

Sie sagt

Sie hat Schwanenflügel

Und sie bewegt ihre Arme

Und sie sieht mich an und sagt

Ich nehme ein nasses Tuch und lege es ihr auf die Stirn

Und das Sonnenlicht durchflutet den Raum

Und die trockenen Blätter im Eck-Whirlpool

Sie greift nach den Büchern

Streichelt ihre Stacheln

Ich fühle mich jetzt hoch

Ich ging hinaus auf die fahlen, verdorrten Felder

Und ich dachte, ich kümmere mich nicht so sehr darum

Wie sie sich fühlt

Dann hörte ich sie noch einmal in meinem Kopf sagen

Ich fühle mich jetzt hoch

Also sah ich in den kalten blauen Himmel und schloss sie aus

Ich überquerte den zugefrorenen Bach bei den dünnen Birken

Und ich dachte, es sei der blauste Himmel, den ich je gesehen habe
