Full moon rose the clock struck eight

Took one last look then tuned around

And as I did I heard the strangest sound

So I stopped, looked back saw a peculiar sight

A silhouette inside the pale moonlight

An' something struck me strange, somehow I knew

The silhouette was Johnny

Eines steckte er in sein Lieblingsbuch

Hatte einen auf das Armaturenbrett seines Lastwagens geklebt

Und dabei hörte ich das seltsamste Geräusch

Also hielt ich an, blickte zurück und sah einen eigentümlichen Anblick

Eine Silhouette im fahlen Mondlicht

Irgendetwas kam mir seltsam vor, irgendwie wusste ich es

Die Silhouette war Johnny
