Atmavichara - Rudra

«I am» therefore let the enquiry begin!

The Self is the object to be known

The knower too is non-separate from the self

So who am I?

What am I?

All my knowledge fails to reveal what I am

My ignorance causes fear of the world and my mortality

I doubt my self-existence.

Is it or is it not?

The enquiry is in knowing what I am not

Am I the body or am I the mind?

Pain, pleasure, sorrow, tranquillity

All of which arises in me

I witness them all standing apart from them!

Not the body nor the breath

Not the ego nor the mind

In the waking I perceive the world

In the dream I create my world

In deep sleep, being blissfully ignorant

I destroy them all

Saccidaananda svaroopah san yastishthati sa aatmaa»

Not part of the universe but it in me

In me it is yet I am not in it

Creation, sustenance and dissolution

I cause them all!!!

The one supreme is the I, like the eye of the eye

Existent in every thought, in every word and in every deed

Not an isolated experience but the only experience

I exist, I am aware, I am, I am-

Neither the body nor the breath!

Neither the ego nor the mind

All of which arises in me

I witness them all standing apart from them!

«Ich bin» also lass die Untersuchung beginnen!

Das Selbst ist das zu erkennende Objekt

Auch der Wissende ist nicht vom Selbst getrennt

Wer bin ich also?

Was bin ich?

Mein ganzes Wissen verrät nicht, was ich bin

Meine Unwissenheit verursacht Angst vor der Welt und meiner Sterblichkeit

Ich zweifle an meiner Existenz.

Ist es oder ist es nicht?

Die Frage besteht darin, zu wissen, was ich nicht bin

Bin ich der Körper oder bin ich der Geist?

Schmerz, Freude, Leid, Ruhe

All das entsteht in mir

Ich sehe sie alle abseits von ihnen stehen!

Weder der Körper noch der Atem

Weder das Ego noch der Verstand

Im Wachzustand nehme ich die Welt wahr

Im Traum erschaffe ich meine Welt

Im Tiefschlaf, glückselig unwissend

Ich zerstöre sie alle

Nicht Teil des Universums, aber es in mir

In mir ist es, aber ich bin nicht darin

Schöpfung, Erhaltung und Auflösung

Ich verursache sie alle!!!

Das eine Höchste ist das Ich, wie das Auge des Auges

Existiert in jedem Gedanken, in jedem Wort und in jeder Tat

Keine isolierte Erfahrung, sondern die einzige Erfahrung

ich existiere, ich bin mir bewusst, ich bin, ich bin-

Weder der Körper noch der Atem!

Weder das Ego noch der Verstand

All das entsteht in mir

Ich sehe sie alle abseits von ihnen stehen!
